フィリピン旅行は安全か

 Is it still safe to visit the Philippines? 
 
     The Philippines is one of the best and beautiful countries in the world. Aside from its beautiful sceneries and islands, people here are very hospitable. 
 
     But what is happening in this country now and why is it ranked 11th on the list of the Most Dangerous Countries for tourists this 2017?
 
     According to the 2017 Travel and Tourism Competitiveness Report of the World Economic Forum, the Philippines is on the 11th position in the said list. 
 
     From the report of a resentful gambling addict who killed many people in the Resorts World to the Marawi crisis where a lot of Maute militants battling with the Philippine Military. 
 
     We Filipinos, never wished for any of this. None of us, ever thought that this could happen this year. Many were killed and injured in both incidents and many families were affected. 
 
     As much as we want to keep our visitors safe, as much as we want to cater our country to other people, there are some happenings in the world which we cannot control, neither the President’s. 
 
     The least we can do now is ask help from other people and pray. Our country is as beautiful as it was before and will still find the beauty in each person living in this country. And we can definitely find peace if we start finding peace in our hearts. Because it starts within ourselves.

1. RESENTFUL: expressing bitterness at having been treated unfairly
EXAMPLE: The resentful gunman committed suicide after the bombing incident.  
2. INCIDENT: happening
EXAMPLE: The incident yesterday was really shocking. 
3. MAUTE: a group also known as the Islamis State of Lanao. 
EXAMPLE: The Maute group killed 25 people in that country.
